Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama Hit Back to Back Home Runs
For a guy who has pushed healthcare for the sick, a minimum wage for Americans, and tuition for college, it may seem surprising to some that those attribute would earn you such a target on your back from Republicans. That is, until you realize that the enormous tax cuts for Exxon and the top 1% of Americans were made possible by the middle class and poor people of America not being able to have these things. How fortunate for Big Oil.
Michelle’s speech was even better (link). She gave an incredibly inspiring speech from someone who’s been villified by Republicans and that story of course pushed by a media itching for advertising dollars from a close race. She showed what a caring, intelligent, and great mother and wife she is…and judging by all of the tears in the audience, I’d say she won a lot of people over.
Oh, and Olberman had the third best speach when asking where former Republican Congressman Joe Scarborough’s shovel was after he went on for two minutes about John McCain without making one point. Joe is an insecure twit who pretends to be a reporter. Unfortunately, MSNBC pays he and Pat Buchanan to assist in the race tightening scheme being perpetuated by all media outlets by regurgitating Republican talking points like “Is Barack to arrogant?”…as pointed out by Jon Stewart when he called out the media for their poor “reporting.”
Bush, McCain, Putin: Lyin’, cheatin’, and stealin’…
Lost in the media world of Vladamir Putin pulling a Bush and invading another country and John Edwards taking one from the McCain playbook and cheating on his sick wife, was George Bush taking advantage of these two stories along with the Olympics taking the news headlines to sneak in one of his last victories for Big Oil.
Bush long ago said that he’d met with Putin and knew he was a good man because he’d “looked into his soul.” When really, he was just seeing another Dick Cheney, willing to kill in the name of securing oil for the future (or keep prices & revenues high). While our military sits dormant in Iraq while we police their streets to the tune of $12 billion per month (that we know of). Putin has been revitalized since Bush drove the price of oil from $11 per barrel to a peak of close to $150/barrel. While the Russian military thrives and their citizens spend $750 million on a summer home in France, America has lost all ability to influence the rest of the world to do the right thing. Or maybe they’re just taking the example of our lead. The answer is both.
Of course the media has spent weeks of being forced to wonder aloud if Barack really is a celebrity because John McCain’s campaign said so after Barack had 200,000 people come hear him speak in Germany. The media is unable to realize or actually report as to why it may make sense for people in other countries have a favorable opinion of our representative who is the President. If Democratic countries like us, they’re more likely to elect leaders who agree with us…otherwise they’ll put people into office who won’t supported needed efforts in Afghanistan or Georgia. Now the mainstream media has too many stories to report given a presidential candidate cheated on his wife (see attached link of how McCain cheated on his wife because she was hurt in a car accident and he therefor divorced her and married wife #2 (15 years younger) a month later (only to cheat on her with a lobbyist 30 years younger than he in 1999 while HE ran for president).
With all of these big news stories, it seemed like the perfect time yesterday for Cheney’s puppet to drop a bomb they’ve been trying to squeeze in for years…the United State government will no longer listen to scientists for recommendations about habitat for endangered animals. They will now listen to the people that they appointed to agencies in the government who’s jobs could be dependent on the answer they give.
We’ve seen this game before:
- Bush environmental employee slashes scientists recommendations and warnings about global warming from a global warming assessment. When his actions become known, along with his oil lobbying background…he quits to take a job with Exxon.
- Bush appointee to NASA denies the ability for his employees to speak out on their global warming findings as the White House restricted which scientists could speak to the issue.
- Federal Aviation Commission appointee suppresses airline safety findings as he is afraid that the truth may frighten fliers.
- Bush appointee to the department of defense awards billions of dollars in deals (including Blackwater). Upon investigation, said employee quits and goes to work for Blackwater’s parent company (as CEO).
- Bush (self)-appointee quits his job at an energy and war company (Halliburton), gets paid over $50 million in cash and stock options to do so. Then invites energy companies to a secret meeting to write energy policy.
- Bush appointee comes to work for FEMA after his career as a horse trainer and Bush fund raiser; this experience gives him keen insight as to how he should save a drowning city.
With this new rule the Bush administration has attempted to circumvent the recent designation of the polar bear as an endangered species caused by the melting of ice due to global warming and the pollution of Big Oil. The real power of this new policy is that there is no longer a government agency pointing out that global warming is real or that it has an effect on anyone or any animal. Without any laws to prevent them from heating the world, these oil companies can continue with their shoving their worthless product down everyones throats as well as drill in lands that have been covers by ice for thousands of years.
While some may scoff and ask how the bear affects them, they may want to wonder what happens when the ice the bear floats or lives on is gone. What will cool the earth when there is no more ice in the summers? Scientists who once said it would take 50 years for the polar ice caps to melt, now say the North Pole will totally melt in the next FIVE years. Those who keep thinking they will not see effects in their lifetime are dead wrong and being naive to the effects are simply creating a world of chaos not just for their kids or grandkids, but for themselves. When cold fronts don’t occur from bursts of cold in the north that bring the same snows to the Rockies, what will melt to feed the rivers where you get drinking water? Without drinking water for the masses, what kind of chaos will erupt?
What will happen to the markets when people start fighting over local water supples? What will happen when intense heat dries up rivers and lakes as it has already done in Texas, Nevada, Arizona, California, and Georgia? What will happen when forests in California dry out from unusual and intense heat? The answers are that billions are spent on Katrina-bailouts, San Diego forest fire bailouts, and the soon to come…drought bailouts, if anything can be done. This may mean good news for Blackwater, who will certainly provide “security” as they did for Katrina…but bad news for the rest of us.

CNN Sells Out One More Time
CNN is now letting Republicans write articles to get a shock value headline on the front page. “Can Obama’s Money Buy Him Love.” Fantastic. This isn’t the first time they’ve taken the low road.
With Obama pulling ahead of McCain, CNN risks a race that gets less attention, and thus, less revenue. There’s one way to cure that, allow Republican strategists to become the authors of stories/hit jobs with nice quotes like, “is Obama trying to buy the election?”
One point that the former Bush White House employee conveniently left out. Obama has a bunch of money because Ms. Sanchez’s Republican party has torn apart the country with disasterous policies to the point where the people of this country are so fed up that they actually want to contribute. Despite a president who has ruined the economy, they want to give away their hard earned money to do what Exxon has been doing for the Republicans for 30 year’s…buy the election.
I look forward to the Democratic response I’m certain CNN is going to allow…..waiting……waiting……
Just one more Republican CNN has hired to write about Democrats…that seems like honest journalism, and as Wolf says….the best political team on TV, if you’re talking about making Time Warner a handful of cash.

Republicans Bank on Racism and Fear to Win the White House
While exploiting blatant racist ads and actions may stir up the Republican base, one has to wonder if civil minded Republicans really want to be associated with a party of hate, especially since so many of those people in that party associate themselves so close with a certain middle easterner named Jesus who, according to one Book, preached about loving your neighbor and being nice to people (not that that prevented the Catholic Church from killing off heretics who didn’t believe in their version of history [link] & [link] & [link]), but that’s another story.
Let’s take a look at some of the most recent shameless actions of Fox News and the Republican party:
First, a nice little button to rile up the racist part of the Republican Party in Texas. I’m so proud of my state for this one [please note sarcarsm]. Luckily, it becomes more purple by the day (and button).
![]()
And this from Faux/Fixed/Fox News, which says that Michelle Obama is, “Obama’s baby momma?” Which is slang for a mom who’s father is not around or never was around.
Oh, and Fox host “E.D. Hill” asked if the fist bump between Barack and his wife was really a “terrorist fist jab.” Really? He’s a terrorist?!! Apparently the elder George Bush is also a terrorist…as is half the country who greets their friends in this way (for hip and hygiene reasons). When your party has resorted to racism and all out hate pushed by the biggest morons on earth, it may be time to at least switch sides for at least one election to shake up your party, or realize that its not the same party anymore, or just that you don’t like the current membership. Its ideas have taken the country down an awful path, and being an awful person to win is not a way to correct the path of bad ideas.

Hillary Clinton Plays the Same Games Until the End
In what has become a sad state of affair in the mind of the Clinton campain, Hillary spent her last two weeks campaigning in Puerto Rico for no other reason than to try to get the popular vote lead and retain some argument to make so that she could retain some power in the party. While others run for the desire to change the corporate stranglehold in Washington or to end our young soldiers being security guards on the streets of a foreign country so Exxon can have contracts in Iraq; Hillary stays in the race to court votes in a commonwealth that can’t vote in the election on November. Well done Hillary. Well done.
Hillary has begged superdelegates for a month not to commit to Barack so she could just finish out what she started, when it has been clear that she’s tried and been somewhat successful at dividing democrats by race and gender in the hopes of ruining Barack Obama’s electibility.
Her tactics continue up to the last minute in stating clearly to superdelegates: “there will be no declaring on Tuesday!” However, there are plenty of people who are on to her games of trying to manipulate others so that she can string the election on a little long for more devisiveness and attempts to change rules after the game has already started.
Senators who may have to feel the effects of “Majority Leader” Clinton may wait until tomorrow, but House members will move tonight, and Barack’s win in Montana will make him the Democratic Nominee for President of the United States.
Clinton is trying to convince Superdelegates to wait until tomorrow to endorse Barack Obama. He would obviously get a huge boost if he is the nominee tonight. However, this is not about the nominee, the Democratic Party, or the American people. It’s about Hillary Clinton, the power, and the money (most importantly, the money she now has to pay off). No leverage = large debt.
Update: On a conference call, Clinton has let it be know that she’s interested in the VP spot. On the day that someone else is about to clinch, Hillary has let it be known that this is what the fighting is really all about. Somehow retaining some sort of power (try not to think RFK). If someone is willing to walk all over the biggest night of your life, would you give them the VP spot?
CNN and Company Continue Down Fox’s Path of Fake News
As I’ve pointed out many times before (in fact here and here), CNN and other networks are so interested in getting both Republicans and Democrats to watch their show, they have stopped reporting actual news out of fear of losing viewership. In an attempt to keep up the Spring drama into the Summer…for the 50th time, like clockwork, they roll Blitzer out with his blog to say there is “Renewed Talk” of a “dream ticket”. In Wolf’s words, “I raised the so-called “Dream Ticket” question to the two candidates. It was the first time they had been asked that question directly…”
Wolf, you’re a stinkin’ GENIUS for asking the same question that is asked every four years of the last two candidates standing. GENIUS I say!! Now, you have trumpeted your own brilliance for the One Millionth +1 time, and you should be proud. Or….ashamed.
At a time when people like Bush’s former press adviser is coming out to say the media did nothing but sit on their hands while Bush trumpeted false or selective intelligence…Wolf doesn’t have the nerve to turn the spotlight on himself or his company for being complicit to starting a war for oil. However, he has no problem patting himself on the back for repeating the same question that EVERY moderator has asked since the invention of moderators…with or without facial hair. This kind of fake news to stir up controversy for the summer (”why won’t he pick her?”) is not only sickening, but fraudulent and misleading.
Where has Wolf been the past four years since Richard Clarke, the country’s smartest person when it comes to terrorism (and most things politics), told us that Bush and his advisors decided to go to war with Iraq the day after 9/11 (and many others said they decided in 1998 ) or that they wouldn’t meet with Clarke (the Terrorism Czar of the Bush II, and previous three administrations, while he was warning of terrorist attacks that were coming?! CNN and Wolf…Nowhere to be seen!
Where was CNN when the Downing Street Memo came out detailing British Intelligence reporting to Tony Blair that the Bush Administration was cooking the books and falsifying the intelligence on Iraq? CNN was busy with Fox reporting on Natalee Holloway while ignoring 100’s of thousands of deaths and losses of limbs, and U.S. troops committing or trying to commit suicide (12,000 attmpts per year!!!) so they could report on the disappearance one a pretty blonde girl or a pedofile formerly black pop star (Michael “Jacko” Jackson).
In fact, a study done for Arianna Huffington’s book, “Right is Wrong”, concluded the media was ignoring the proof the U.S. was ”fixing intelligence around the policy [of going to Iraq]“ by reporting the following:
“…ABC News had nothing on the memo, 42 segments on Natalee, 121 pieces on Jacko. CBS News was even worse, while NBC did better (six whole segments on the memo). Fox News had 10 segments mentioning the memo — but 148 on Natalee and 286 on Jacko.”
CNN sold their operation to Time Warner, the company that screws customers on their cable bill for a living, and has done nothing but hire right wing nut jobs such as Glenn Beck to spew hate filled venom for no other reason than to boost ratings by stealing Fox right wing nutjob viewers. With the increased eyeballs and thus ad revenue, they have to be careful not to offend these new viewer with reality. It continues to add channels and has followed the path of MTV and ESPN when they did the same thing. Not enough music, news or sports to garner enough ad buys? Change the product. They’ve become so money hungry that they don’t even have actual news on the channel anymore (as MTV quit with videos and ESPN shows “Stump the Schwab” with host Stewart Scott-Blitzer (replace Blitzer beard with glass eye) instead of sports.
CNN’s latest sickening attempt to make money off of fake news is throwing up headlines for shock value…and then placing a tee-shirt icon next to the headlines to make money off of the non-news headlines. Did you giggle at the headline? Well, you can make your friends giggle too for $19.99 (does not include cost of ignoring the Iraq War…or shipping). While this may not seem like a major feaux(news)-pau, consider that having more and more “tee-shirt” news pushes actual news off of the front page. For example: The former press secretary says the President of the United States makes up stories and then convinces himself that it’s true…such as the one where he “couldn’t remember if he did cocaine.” Uh, George, I’m pretty sure everyone remembers what happens BEFORE it goes in the nose.

The more tee-shirt news we have, the less actual news we get…and unfortunately, we’ve been getting Feaux News from more than just Fox for some time now, and it’s costing us $411 million per day and $5000 per second…and that doesn’t even take into account the interest payments we’ll be making to China for the loan we’re taking for THEM to pay for our war or the heath care costs we be making on the troops when they get home. I wonder how their economy is doing so well right now?
I’ve linked to this before, but for a firsthand account of how the media didn’t report on what they knew the administration was lying about BEFORE the war, please watch this PBS documentary:
http://www.pbs.org/moyers/journal/btw/watch.html
Wolf Blitzer & CNN…kings of the tee-shirt news. Ignoring actual news that might keep $3 trillion dollars from being handed over to Exxon, Halliburton, Blackwater, Bell Helicopter, Lockheed Martin, families of dead Iraqis, etc. Take a look above at the “important” news that CNN would have you believe that they’re still a relevant “news” source.

Clinton Mentions a Possible Assassination as a Reason to Stay in the Race
This is a mentally ill woman. Could this explain why she sought out and championed the endorsement of the man who once accused her of murdering Vince Foster?
Would any sane person appoint someone who mentions assassination as a reason to stay in the race as their vice president? If she says incredibly dangerous things such as this when she’s your opponent, what will she be willing to do if she’s a heartbeat away?
What’s worse, is that her attempted apology was pathetic. Not only did she only apologize to the Kennedy family (when who she should be apologizing to is every American and specifically the Obama family), but it also sounded more like her Bosnia story. Clinton says she just happen to bring up the Kennedy’s since they’re in the news recently because of Ted’s recent diagnosis of having a brain tumor which is exactly what she said about being a Bosnian commando…it was just a one time slip of the tongue. Like the Bosnia story, it’s not the first time she’s made this reference. She also gave the old, “sorry if I offended anyone” bit. In other words, she’s okay with what she said, but if you’re not, then she’s sorry.
I once thought Hillary was a good liar.
Trust me…it’s not loaded!!!

Hillary Claims Sexism, the Suffrage Movement, and the Underground Railroad as Her Own
Hillary’s push to have her $31 million in debt paid off is obviously not going very well. Her supporters are broke (apparently, little 11 year old Dalton doesn’t have another bike to pawn for Hillary), and Barack’s have little interest in funding her campaign that she knew was over months ago but continued to rack up debt to pay for it (now her Iraq war vote is making sense).
She’s out on the trail claiming that she’s fighting for votes to count in Michigan and Florida…even though she said they would not count when she didn’t think she’d need them (video below). This new fight is now as big as the fight over slavery and vote suppression. Really Hillary? Getting votes seated exactly as you want them is as big as slavery? Isn’t your ego a tad bit high today?
So, what is the only way left to have your debt reduced to zero? Merge your campaign with the winner by forcing your way onto the ticket. At this point the only way that can happen is if Hillary sabotage’s the Obama campaign without forcing superdelegates to end the race before your plan is complete. The only way to keep the race going is to beg superdelegates to not decide yet, and let her go to the rules committee (you know, the one that set the rules already that Hillary now says she doesn’t like). In this Bizarro World, the game continues to go on into overtime, despite one team already having a majority of the elected delegates, Hillary stirs the pot by claiming sexism, and pretending that making sure Michigan and Florida get to have a say in a race that won’t change Baracks elected delegate lead no matter how the delegates are seated.
Hillary has absolutely no argument left in her quiver, except maybe one. In this linked article, the author points out that Obama hasn’t cheated on his wife (like Bill) which means he’s not agressive enough; not to mention, he was just too nice on the campaign trail to Hillary, which means he’s just not tough enough.
This is my favorite argument of all, because it goes to the emptiness of the Clinton campaign. A lier can throw out enough bogus stories (like the gas tax Holiday, 35 years of experience, Bosnia, no sexual relations, pro-NAFTA, etc.), that they actually start to believe them. However, article linked above may be the most pathetic article I’ve ever read. Pathetic that someone can contradict themselves so many times, and pathetic that this is what Hillary’s argument is boiled down to…absolutely nothing.
What simpleminded people such as this author fail to comprehend is the masterful/brilliant campaign that Obama has run. he avoided doing anything to be accused of sexism despite the world watching his every move. When the race is finally over, Hillary has been forced to try and play the sexism card she’s wanted to do all along…but she’s having to blame the media because the candidate didn’t give her an open shot.
Barack is teflon because he doesn’t give you a reason to hate him. Hillary’s problem is that she doesn’t give you a reason to like her. I understand why she has loyal supporters; if I were a 65+ year old woman, I’d be pushing for her candidacy for personal reasons as well…but articles like this are more demeaning to women than anything a man could do or say [hyperbole alert].
When you’re complaining that Barack won, but was too nice to your candidate…then you missed what was actually going on. Barack left no room to write articles about him being a sexist…and now they’re left writing fluff pieces while he moves on to be tough with the republican candidate while Hillary waves a sexism card from the 2nd place podium.
The many faces of Hillary propelled her to an impressive second place finish.

McCain and His Flip Flops on Huge Issues
John McCain ran as the “maverick” politician in 2000 against George Bush. Bush labeled McCain in so many “liberal” ways that McCain has said he didn’t vote for Bush in 2000 (but in true McCain fasion, now says he did vote for Bush. This, like so many other topics, he’s flipped…so I thought I’d give a quick list of John’s biggest flip flops. Ironically, he uses most of his previous positions against his opponent in the general, Barack Obama.
|
McCain Then |
McCain Now |
|
Said in 2006 that we should work with Hamas since they are the elected government. |
Claims Obama talking to Iran is like meeting with Hamas; i.e.: negotiating with terrorists |
|
Has voted in every chance against every form of alternative energy, fuel efficiency increase, and renewable energy. At every turn, all of John McCain’s efforts have been to support Big Oil. I would list everything, but this link does it for me. |
Now says he’s the person to tackle global warming. It’s so easy to say you’ll be the one to tackle it once it is a crisis, after you spent 30 years in the senate not tackling it. |
|
Thought Bush’s tax cuts for the rich were a terrible idea…his words:
“I cannot in good conscience support a tax cut in which so many of the benefits go to the most fortunate among us at the expense of middle-class Americans who need tax relief.” |
Now supports Bush tax cuts for the wealthy at a time when the country in trillions of dollars in debt, is spending $5,000 per second in Iraq, and will be paying off the loan we’ve taken out from China for 100 years so we can make sure the rich don’t have to sacrifice. |
|
Says he wants openness and transparency of government. |
Goes against his own campaign finance laws (because Bush won’t appoint a full Election commission to enforce the rules) by taking flights on his wife’s jet. Unfortunately, since she’s said she’ll NEVER release her tax returns, we don’t know which corporation is paying for the fuel. Luckily, lobbyists aren’t flying around on the plane with John (oh wait, yes they are). |
Who is the true maverick? (picture of Xenu not available for less than $100,000; BTW, don’t John’s hugs make people look fat?)

I may be old and crazy and have a bad temper, but that doesn’t make me old and crazy.
Clinton Supporters Threaten to Switch to McCain
In a last gasp effort, some Clinton supporters have threatened to vote for McCain. This logic seems severely flawed in that unless they are racists, McCain hardly seems like someone who would support their views, assuming they actually liked her stand on the issues. A list of some of McCain’s views:
- Feels it is okay to call his wife a “cu#t” in public (as if it mattered where).
- Thinks that keeping a presence in Iraq for 100 years will be the same as keeping them in South Korea. However, to stay in Iraq with permanent bases he says we must not be taking casualties; to leave Iraq, we must not be taking casualties…with this circular logic, one can only assume that he, like Bush, wants us to stay in Iraq (to protect the oil that funds the Republican Party…and terrorism. Therefore, we’re doomed to stay in a land that does not want us. I’m sure the suicide bombings will stop if we build permanent bases though, I mean, it worked so well for the Khobar towers in Saudi Arabia. At some point Republicans will actually study why people in the Middle East don’t like people from other countries to set up bases on their land…and we’ll figure out that they’re just doing it for oil…like McCain said the other day.
- Wants to appoint conservative judges to a court that already has 7 of 9 judges appointed by conservative presidents. Women’s rights have already stalled, McCain would like to remove any right to chose…even in cases of rape.
- McCain’s campaign has over 60 lobbyists working for it…well it did before two just quit as they represent Myanmar/Burma’s ruling party that is refusing aid and allowing 100,000 die in their own country.
I’ll be adding more, but it seems pretty hard to believe that even the most hard core Clinton supporters would trade the future of the country because their candidate didn’t win the nomination.
This is what happens when you build bases in the middle east, even in “friendly territory”….shhhh…don’t wake up John to tell him.
